Well I know the thread was in jest but Harley Davidson is in a huge down turn.
Prices have skyrocketed on new and even used bikes, due to covid, and stores are struggling.
The store I worked in recently raised shop rates to $150.00 an hour, older customers like myself have hung it up, and the off roading craze where the whole family can participate is exploding.
You can buy a 5 seater hotrod ATV for hundreds cheaper than a Harley Davidson and take the whole family.

Then theres the credit issues. Having good enough credit to finance an expensive motorcycle has been a problem for the last 5 to 10 years.
I think younger folks had rather play video games than go outside, and they definitely don't take care of their credit.

Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times.

It's not just H-D.  The entire motorcycle industry is hurting but some more than others.

i havent seen the price thing around here. At least in used bikes. Son in law bought a flh with 20k on it for 9 grand that was a 2015. I just saw a softail classic in the local action shopper paper that was a 2011 with 14k on it for 7 grand. My hunting partner picked up an FLH used that was the last bike he bought new. It had been through 3 differnt owners since he sold it and had 75k on it but was in great shape and runs great. He paid 4k for it. Maybe its a regional thing but prices sure havent skyrocketed around here. If anything bike sales are lagging because nobody going anywhere and prices are tanking on used bikes because of it.  Dealerships might be ripping people off but then harley dealerships were never shy about doing that. Back when it actually was hard to buy them the dealer at the time picked and chose who he sold bikes to and decided what you should pay. I might pay X dollars and someone else comming in 3 hours later wanting the same thing would pay 3k more because the dealer didnt like him as much. Complain about it? Youd never get another bike. Back then you could buy a new one drive it for two years and sell it for what you payed for it. Now theres used ones everywhere. They depreciate just as much as a honda today. I quit buying harleys about 10 years ago. My back is just so bad that anything more then a couple hundred miles in a day is out of the question. Hard to justify 15k or more for something to put 2k a year on. That said i just told my wife the other day that next summer i might pick up a used one. Low mileage bikes are all over the place for under 8k and sometimes as low as 6k. For that price i wouldnt have to justify letting it sit and taking a couple rides a year.
