The weather guessers apparently panicked in their forecast for this part of the world. The wind only managed the high 40's and no tornadoes or thunderstorms developed. I did get a quarter inch of rain sometime last night and we have a very light mist right now with a wind around 20mph. It's 41 degrees with a high of 45 forecast but it's supposed to be back in the mid 80's Saturday. I do believe I watched about half of the Texas panhandle transfer down to the Alpine region yesterday. My sister-in-law called wondering about the tornado watch and we told her we couldn't even see if there were clouds because there was so much dirt in the air.
It's been extremely dry this summer. Little dinky Tatum, NM has a very good weather website and they are showing only 5.6 inches of moisture for this year. We got most of that in March and a little in early July. It looks like the cowboys are going to be buying feed this winter or selling off their critters if they haven't had to do so already.
I'm hoping for a really nasty winter for the Albuquerque/Santa Fe region.
