Hurricane Laura..a word of caution..
« on: August 26, 2020, 10:15:13 AM »
If you decided to ride out the storm or not, is your decision.  But whether you ride it out or evacuate and come back later, I want to caution you.

When the storm is past you still have to be alert.

Hurricane Harvey hit from 8/25/17 to 9/02/17

My brother lived within 1/2 mile of that largest refinery..the Valero refinery in Port Arthur. His house was on what one would consider a small rise or island, so when others were flooded, he stayed relatively high and dry.

After the storm & flood was past, everything seemed to be getting back to normal and life went on as usual, except my brother started to experience some congestion and other bothersome complaints.

His son admitted him into the hospital...  By the time they got his situation diagnosed, it was too late! My brother died from the effects of black mold  on 2/22/18 !

I buried his ashes back here the following June... Another Korean war veteran trod his last mile !
