For headlines, they should just write --YOU ARE GOING TO DIE -- that is the paranoid line of BS they are pushing.

It's a shame it took many thousands of sick people to prove how irrefutably important that personal hygiene is. Who was it, the surgeon general or who that was stating how extremely important washing with soap and water was? I've said that for many years but there are quite a few that scoff at the notion of the importance of washing your hands often, and of personal hygiene in general. Besides my own family raising me to stay clean, I've known some missionaries from our church who spoke of how many overseas who would have been much healthier had they kept their selves cleaner, and a man I once worked with who told me about how much disease was prevented in the part of southeast Asia he was at by distributing soap to the native people his unit worked with.  Stay  clean  stay well

I tend to think it's the other around.  I think we have been too clean, with mothers, and fathers not letting kids be kids.  I grew up playing in the dirt, probably ingesting quite a bit of it as I played.  I think it's wise to wash your hands, cover your coughs and sneezes etc, but we have been way overusing all these anti bacterial products for years, and now as a society we are paying the price for it, not allowing us to develop herd immunity for these viruses.

I disagree up to a point. It's just good sense
to clean your hands before eating or after using
the restroom. I've always used hand sanitizer after
handling these grocery carts too. I've seen too many
people male and female digging in their nose or crotch
or butt crack out in public and not hand washing after
a trip to the public restroom to not be fairly cautious about
my own hygiene and sanitizing. Lots of uncovered deep
coughing and sneezing too.

My one job some years back was going down into sanitary sewer system to scoop out soil type debris that could plug the oldest areas where the vacuum could not reach deep enough to suck it out, after sewer snake was run up the system and then reeled back bringing debris with it.
I climbed down and took my little pail and shovel down there and scooped it out but you could hear when some one flushed up the line so , you would wait until any possible toilet paper and turds would float by. :o

No gloves and wearing jeans and T-shirt.Of course there were the days you had to clean the bottom of the digester tank wearing hip boots and standing in turn stew pushing the liquid to the vacuum to suck out.Since those days the city bought a fancier vacuum, and built a whole new system so the current boys are saved from that. :D
