Wolf spring for 38 spl
« on: February 03, 2020, 04:02:07 AM »
I should be getting my Wolf hammer spring any day now for my Charter Arms 38 UL stubby. It has developed a light hammer strike, that has gone from once in a while to every time. I hope the spring does the trick. If it does,I'll even bob the hammer. I bought for double action use only anyway, and it fits my pocket very well. If the spring fails to do the trick, I hear a shim is an option as well. The spring would be an easier fix for my limited gunsmithing abilities.
the right/left yardstick is a French Revolution-born human measure. It reflects the political spectrum, which is determined by the people’s range of beliefs. Christians, however (and everyone, in fact), should make Truth their yardstick. This inerrant guide doesn’t compromise and build consensus, either; it’s not a politician. It dictates where reality lies. And in a civilization claiming 2+2=5, it’s with the “extremist” who insists it’s 4. For God’s realism so often is man’s radicalism.

I replaced the factory spring with the Wolfe spring and it now goes bang. It did stiffen up the trigger pull, but still doable in double action. My next mod will be to either bob the hammer or replace it, as I don't have a need to use it single action, and I will sometimes carry it in my front pocket.
