Hi , anyone here ever fish for bass at DisneyWorld in Florida? Going down in early March for a week and would like to do some fishing, but not sure what lures to take , have to pack lite, so can only bring a small handful, any suggestions would be appreciated, have no idea what to expect.But it sure will be great to get away from all this damn snow!!!!!

I'd take some topwater, speed worms, flukes, and some spinner baits and spoons.

Where are you going to fish there? It should be some pretty good fishing on most of the water around it.

I'm not really sure, my wife made all the arrangements, and told me to bring a rod and some lures that they have a fishing area close to our hotel, thats one of the stipulations to traveling , I'll go with her if there's a place to wet a line. But I'm not sure what lures, gonna bring 6'6" casting rod,its a travel rod thats in 3 pc's so I can pack it in a suitcase, but I can't bring a tackle box, so I have to pick out a few tidbits to pack along , was thinking a pop-r, a couple spinner baits,a couple a crankbaits, and maybe a package of senkos,what colors??? Thats the info I'm looking for. thanks

Those Florida lakes don't have much room to fish a crank bait. They are too choaked with grass for that to be effective.

Senko in pearl would be a good choice.

Casting spoons (Silver minnow type) with a white or chart skirt would be a good choice.

I do have a few doubts about a 3 piece rod. Understand, the grass is thick. You need a powerful rod to pull a fish out whatever you are fishing. 17 lb line is usually the minimum. I'd really like to have a 7' MH or H casting rod down there.

the rods a 3 pc, bass pro extreme,medium heavy travel rod. No doubt a 1 pc would be better, but need to bring something that will fit in a carry on suitcase, if the rod breaks, bass pro will replace it, and I'll have a memory, hope I have such a problem. thanks for the help. pearl senkos, I was gonna bring watermelon, this is what I'm looking for, thanks

She's probably talking about Lake Kissimmee, it's the closest thing to the hotels. They spray for weeds, it is congested though. Try taking a baby zara spook or spit'n image. I used to tear them up on top water around there. Skippers right on with selection. If it's lake kissimmee, it's a man made pond that they run ski boats in, it gets up to 18 ft or so, the edges are 5 foot deep about 10 foot out. Try the right hand side when you first get there, there's a creek that feeds in. Watch out for canoers though I've hit a couple in the head with rubber baits coming out of the thick stuff. You think the alligators are bad, you hit a few New York tourists with a 1 oz carolina rig and the show is on. You kick their canoe over because 10 apologies just enfuriates them more and you have a saga.
