Super Bowl Ads
« on: February 03, 2014, 02:33:13 AM »
Did anyone see what this latest shouting is all about?  I had the TV off.  How was the advertising?  Who cares about ads?   ???

Study after study has shown how dangerous distracted driving is yet people continue to talk on their cell phones while driving. Driving in the U.S. requires your full attention. Many states and countries have made it illegal to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and the federal government should follow their lead. Banning the use of cell phones while driving would have the added benefit of making the no-texting law enforceable.

My kid kept switching off the ads so I didn't get to see many until I took the remote away.  One ad I LIKED was for T mobile.  It was quiet, simple, pretty much a plain screen with a red banner saying something about no contract, cheaper  and I quote ".....and no overpriced movie stars........."   I loved it for its simplicity.  Its more convincing that they might really save me money if they don't have grandiose super bowl ads.

NRA Life

liberal Justice Hugo Black said, and I quote: "There are 'absolutes' in our Bill of Rights, and they were put there on purpose by men who knew what words meant and meant their prohibitions to be 'absolutes.'" End quote. From a recent article by Wayne LaPierre NRA

It's a good thing for my TV set that I wasn't watching the Super Bowl ads.  Here's one that makes my blood boil.    >:(

I can't recall , but I think it was a Daniel Defense ad , that the Super Bowl committee refused to air because it was from a firearms manufacturer. So I didn't watch any of their ads. From what I hear it was a lousy super bowl anyway. >:(
