Sorry no cell phone numbers that you can choose. It had to be the original land line number from
that time period in order to be era.  AT&T says it is the most requested cell number they get.

At my house I have one dial phone and an old push-button phone.
Twenty eight bucks a month.

My cousin gave me a cell, I told him I do not use cells.
I have no idea where it is now, probably the land-fill.

At the other residence I spend time at,  all the cordless phones are now in the garbage  but except for one refurbished dial phone I paid two hundred bucks for  the rest all have speaker phones in them as my sig. likes that feature.

I did drop long distance and use a dial-around system at one house though, cheaper especially if one calls overseas.

When I travel, I use my dial around system on motel phones or find a pay phone of which there are still some out there.
I am surprised at how cheap they are to use now calling long distance at many places.

Got rid of my landline and home pc today, along with all the movie channels and will save a little over $1200.00 a year.

Just make sure you have a noisy electric motor running near you when you use them.
The EMS is real particular that way over any real distance.

Don't depend on anything that can be turned off at the other end , be made useless by elec power failures , clouds or snow. A cell phone may be helpful on a good day .

Just read in this morning's newspaper where our local County 911 radio signals are interfering with the neighboring County Fire Dept radio stations, and a complaint has been filed with the FCC, who in turn, said, "If the two Counties don't come to an agreement within X # of days, the FCC with shut down both County Law Enforcement Radio Stations.  That includes city police, highway patrol, 911, fire and ambulance too.  What a chaos the govt could cause if they shut down nation wide TV, Radio, and Cell Phone communications.
