  OK guys;
  This must be "confession time"..for each of us to admit doing the bonehead thing.  Let this old blacksmith tell you of a bonehead trick each beggining smith does..unless seriously warned.  I wasn't seriously warned!
 
     I heated a 1" tubular steel piece about 3' long.  I had been working it for some time and prepared the last heat so there were 6-7 inches which were a brilliant orange.. a couple taps..then plunge into the slack tub (water bucket).  At bright orange, the steel is around 1500 to 1600 F... you can't imagine the blast of super heated steam that comes ripping out of  the operators end of that pipe!
  Fortunately it didn't go up a sleeve..the angle kept most of it away from my hand & arm..but it could have been right at my forearm.  I didn't get away painless, but it could have been much worse.   
     That is one lesson I have never forgotten...

No kidding! think of all the taxpayers we would have just in this country, why only a few dollars from the 48% that pay would make the deficit climb to almost 30 Trillion. Sorry I am cynical old man.
 
Really, no war deaths, no car crashes, no telling what we could accomplish.

Did you ever stop to think what your life would be like if your marriage license expired every four years and thy made you take a test to renew it? Would you pass ?

Man thats a good one. I would try to renew on the internet like I do with my drivers license. The hassle would make me prolly put it off till it expired and I'd have to start all over with the original qualifing test and then be banned from marriage.    My Bride is a Saint and I would be lost without her, probably in Alaska or South America.

But then these days what matter would it make if you had a valid license or not.
