More Snow Coming

Just when we thought it was over, and we are beginning to see dirt under the trees, and in spots of the drive way.  Now they are saying 3 to 5 inches of snow tomorrow.  Temps should be in the mid to high 50s, with no dropping below freezing at night.  Temp was 16 last night, expecting 12 tonight.

Sky has been driving his Miata, he will have to park it again.

Sourdough I can see why y'all wanna come south! I'm having to brush hog pasture and spray poison Ivy. Everything is green and growing here.

Here in Okieland it dropped down below freezing last night. The record low for today "was" 33 degrees.

We've been getting similar doses of snow here in sunny Minnesota. We had about 8 inches on Monday, it's almost gone now. Forecast is for 70F this weekend. Lots of snow this year, especially in April. I think it set a record.
 
Oh well, it delays yard work, so it's not all bad.

Hopefully it'll be like around here. One last storm, then instant spring. We had snow storms every other day last week and into this week. Today's a transition day. Rest of the extended forecast looks warm, like in the 70s.

They are calling for more snow this weekend and early next week.  Geese, and Swans have arrived, but the Cranes are two weeks overdue.

The average temp for today is 52.  Today's high temp was 31.  Is spring ever going to arrive?

Just spent two hours plowing snow, on the 29th of April.  I should be running around in shorts.  More snow predicted for the rest of the week.

Sourdough, you live in Alaska and you're bewildered that it's snowing in April?  Just kidding, but I do remember when I was up there in the Sixties, we had the last snow of the winter in June and the first snow would come around the end of August.  Neither one would stick, but snow is snow and Alaska is Alaska.

Yes, snow that falls and melts as soon as it touches the ground.  Happens in July, no big deal. 

We got three inches of new stuff this morning.  Stuff that's not melting anytime soon.  They are predicting snow for the rest of the week. 

Wife is currently sitting on the Richardson Highway stuck in traffic.  Been there for over 45 minutes.  There is a bad accident ahead.  The one spot where the highway goes through Ft Wainwright.  No exits, no turnarounds, no way to get around it.  Son called the University, he is not going in today.  I'm headed out to plow more snow out of the driveway.

Yea, we should be setting out or gardens.  They are still buried under two to three feet of snow.  The greenhouses are full to overflowing.  Too cold to put baby chicks, ducks, and game birds out side in their cages.  Was going to raise a variety of birds this year, still too cold to get them from the supplier. 

Roads were a mess yesterday with 3" of fresh snow.  Big wreck blocked the highway, wife and kid both late getting to school and work.  I stayed home all day, plowed snow and cleaned drains.  Helped Norman drag a Conex off the street into his driveway.  Little birds are emptying my bird feeder in 48 hours.  Normally they don't come to it by now.  The few that do will take two weeks to empty it.

Not seeing any Moose, guess they are all still up in the hills where the snow is not so deep.  Other than one Grizzly, no Bear sightings.  1st of May, Bears should be everywhere, getting into all kinds of trouble.  The State just extended the time to remove studded snow tires from the 1st of May to the 15th.  Bet most folks will keep them on till the 1st of June.
