There has been two explosions at the finish line at the Boston Marathon. Many, many people injured. This news is just now coming in. The cause of the explosion is unknown.

When Fox showed a good close up of the initial explosion and smoke.....it was an orange brownish. isn't that a signature of a high explosive, seems I remember it in videos of the gulf war when bombs went off. But I am probably wrong....who has seen this and can clear this up...or am I imagining this.

They are saying now other explosive devices were found and detonated by Police

Another explosion has gone off in Boston at the JFK Library. Noone injured in that one......but What the heck is going on?

Fox are saying it is a terrorist attack,,,,So is MSN and CNN. Sounds like they are mobilizing police in other cities N.Y. City, Los Angeles, Seattle. They are deploying cell phone killers to prevent cell phones from making calls in case these are cell detonated devices.

Ya'll watch. I have heard this is now being called a terrorist act. This will be a good excuse to give Homeland Security more authority against the citizens of this country. Wouldn't surprise me if the Gov did it for just this reason. I really hate not trusting my own government but I am seeing too many things happen that mirror situations in Germany in the late 30's... I learned from history and from what I can see , for all of the BS both parties put out neither really wants to stop what is going on. They just want to make themselves look good....

Police clear the area at the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon.

Investigators have a suspect — a Saudi Arabian national — in the horrific Boston Marathon bombings, The Post has learned.

Law enforcement sources said the 20-year-old suspect was under guard at an undisclosed Boston hospital.

Fox News reported that the suspect suffered severe burns.

It was not immediately clear why the man was hospitalized and whether he was injured in the attack or in his apprehension.

The man was caught less than two hours after the 2:50 p.m. bombing on the finish line of the race, in the heart of Boston.

In addition, Boston police have surveillance video of someone bringing multiple backpacks to blast site, according to CBS News.

Police also confirmed that there was a third explosion, at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. It was not immediately clear how much damage was done or whether it was related to the bombings at the marathon finish line.

The library bombing occurred about 4:30 p.m. and more than a mile from the marathon.

A law enforcement source confirmed to The Post that 12 people were killed and nearly 50 were injured in today's blast.

The Kentucky derby is coming up in a few weeks. They have multiple races and events besides the race that attract several hundred thousand people all packed together. I've feared for years that something like this would happen there. Glad we got out of there over 30 years ago.

I am betting they will place most of the blame on "rigt wing extremist" gun owners and reserve a small portion of the blame for George W Bush, regardless of who is actually responsible for this murderous act.

From the sound of the explosion the smoke and the reported smell I would guess it was a black powder bomb.

A lady being interviewed by Fox said "Homeland Security was there in 5 seconds". Then she said they immediately had a satellite truck set up and operating in minutes. Those guys are quick eh?

I just heard a "news" report on the radio and the "journalist" was droning on about this week is the traditional week for "domestic" terrorist attacks from Columbine to Oklahoma City. One witness on the radio stated he could smell cordite, same as he had in Iraq. There was a lot of smoke, which looked like black powder.
No idea of how large a charge of black it would take. A IED would probably have more casualties from concussion, not just shrapnel. There are lots of questions which will be answered wrong in time. Was the second bomb supposed to be a follow up to injure responders?

Boulder is already planning for extra securty at theri Marathon, in about 11 weeks. We only once got caught in that trafic going to Estes,. by mistake, now make sure to avoid the whole place on any event weekends.

If it was black, there goes my flintlock, too.

Didnt take them long to find an expert in the area to let them know all about cordite. This has the feel of 9-11 all over again. They seem to always catch the perps real fast after one of these events.
They always seem to have the proper ID from where ever and since the world hates the mussy they can parade one around a few days and take all the freedom they want and start a war to enhance their protfolio. I would suggest the whole country turn off the news for a week or two and then you will hear the truth but you want believe it.

The saudi isn't being called a suspect but rather a person of interest. That maybe later changed to suspect or it might not. What I heard on CNN was the reporters speculating that perhaps folks with burn injuries possibly related to the bombs would be suspect of being the bombers cuz they were close when it exploded.

Close is NOT where a bomber is when his explosives go off unless they are wearing the bomb like a suicide bomber does. I've already heard more silliness reported on this than had happened this soon after 9-11.
