Where are all the 870 Express, Pardner Pumps, etc.?
« on: April 14, 2013, 12:47:52 PM »
Hi All,
Been hoping to add a new Pardner Pump to my collection, (or 870 Express, etc.).

All the online dealers seem to be out of the Pardner's. Saw a few 870's but am afraid to order one, keep reading of a quality decline in those the last few years. (I know... can they be worse than a Pardner Pump, some folks are probably asking, who are reading this...)

Anyway, Just wanted to try a low cost pump with changeable chokes... the long barreled hunting one... not even the "defender" model that I *would* expect to be sold out about now.

Is it just me, or is this post Sandy Hook frenzy literally clearing the shelves of anything that looks even remotely "tactical"?

Heck even powder seems to be hard to find. Surprise me, because I'd tend to think the "tactical" crowd does a lot less reloading than the rest.

Guns, ammo and reloading components are almost impossible to find at the usual online sites. Gun shops at least around here seem to have a fair selection of guns but ammo is extremely limited and rimfire ammo, 9mm, 40 S&W and 45acp are just about nonexistent here.

Bud's is one of the largest out there and I check their gun status regularly mostly handguns and they just don't have them. Rifles and shotguns are more common but all things gun related are in extremely short supply and have been since the last election.

Yes, I have to admit, I was surprised when Cabala's told me they had no Unique or 2400 in stock at the call in number.

Hmmm... I guess it's time to revisit black powder and muzzle loaders... or is potassium nitrate also gone! ;)

Guess I need a Brown Bess, a 1861 Springfield, a Walker Colt and maybe one of those Remington revolving rifle things. (Would like one of each anyway, LOL!)

All kidding aside, I never thought I'd see the day Unique was hard to get. Or geez, even Lee Loaders and Lee Molds.

Lee used to sell off their own web pages... now everything is listed as "out of stock".

Seems like a good excuse to learn how to make some things. But at the moment don't have the space and tooling.

Oh well, hopefully it will blow over. Obama doesn't get another term, and I can only hope the recent spate of shootings stops.
