So is the magazine bill standing on its own now too? I don't much see that one going anywhere. If they try to piggyback it with background checks i don't see either happening. Come to think of it i don't think background checks would pass unless heavily amended. This doesn't seem like the "popular" issue anymore and i think alot of politicians are worried about 2014

Exactly, Oldshooter. The Republicans still haven't learned to use incrementalism like the democrats have. Too many on the right want all or nothing. We need to pick up some tactics from the other side and bide our time.

AWB ban was a diversion. It was a faint from the the beginning, now they will say they just want reasonable controls. Republicans will think they have won and the progressives will get what they really wanted, the enhanced background checks. The people will lose in the end.

From day one it has been political theater. DF and all of her fan base get to cheer her courage to fight back against the NRA and crime (she knew good and well this had a snowballs chance in hell of passing). HR gets to look like the voice of reason by removing the insanity.

In the end we have still given ground on the whole Gun Grab 2013 project. Nothing here to cheer about IMHO

There were just not enough backing in the Senate. Conservatives love their guns; liberals like theirs. Between the two, a ban wouldn't pass.

Its grandstanding, the limelight and nothing more . While this has the one voteing block that
opposes them the most looking elsewhere , they are up to something else.
They have a history of doing this its just been awhile since they have .
They use the publics short memory span against us. DF and the rest of them are figureheads that
surface and keep our attention by showboating but who knows what the real issue is.
Such when did anything Congress does stop Obama ?

It buys them time and it could be a succession of things leading up to the one big ultimate goal.
It could be amnisty, another fast & furious deal , the UN , with Kerry running around out there who
knows . As far as this ammo crises, IG made a good point about the ammo makers having trouble
getting the raw materials to make ammo. I would bet that some of those materials are imported
from overseas . While Congress rattles on about this issue and Obama remains silent over one of
his pet projects . I still say forget the guns its about the ammunition .

That's like saying hay I have this new car , but what good is it if you don't have any gas?
And how does that reflect on anything ? Well they will have restricted your movements for one thing
down to what little gas you may have horded just as an example .
People are coming out of the woodwork buying up ammo at rediculous prices even from individuals
that have it to sell just to survive . That makes no sence at all ,regular speculators don't like to buy
high with no future proof of anything that may not give them an even higher return on their investment . Unless they know something we don't or they are not who they appear to be .

In selling this ammo it could also send out red flags on who has what ! Some guy comes up with
5000 rds of linked 7.62x51 for sale what is that going to tell you about his firearm preference ?
Another guy has the same amount in 223 and its all PMC in cases what does that tell you about the
quantity he may have bought at one time ? It must have came on a palet from looking at the
lot numbers . Is he an FFL with any kind of a store front or just some regular guy ?
Hummmmmm, watch this guy and track his movements ! Follow him like a drug dealer and make
accounts of every other house he goes too or any vehicle tag that comes to visit him .

drama . Meanwhile we hear nothing out of Obama who normally could care less about Congress .
This was to be his milestone legislation , why isn't he out there drumming up public sentiment over
this ? Why isn't he standing on a stage surrounded by LE and little kids ?
It does not fit his MO one bit . Do not deter from the obvious that's only playing their game .
The more these gun forums post about hoarders and greedy people the more this trick is working.
It takes the attention off of them and places it on us .

to be simple logic and the truth .

As anal as our gov is why would gun forums and patriot forums still be allowed to exist or never

I would not trust them for a nanosecond. They will try to get it done another way or by pushing it thought by it self. Keep Writing and calling. Some of these politicians have shorter memory that the people that vote them in. WRITE, CALL then do it all over again till they as sick of hearing from us.

VAJOHN has it right. What they really - what they think is obtainable - is universal background checks, with felony penalties. Don't go there, peeps. It sounds 'reasonable' until dig a bit. AWB is sacrificial, so they can say, 'we gave up something, now give us something REASONABLE...'
