Arizona Allowed to Ban Hispanic Studies 03/18/13
Back in early 2011, Arizona banned ethnic studies and a judge just upheld it as being Constitutional. The law states that you cannot have a class that promotes one ethnicity or raises tensions against another ethnicity.

From Politics Daily:
A new immigration debate is burning in Arizona this week after the state's attorney general declared a Tucson school district's Mexican-American program illegal -- while similar class programs for blacks, Asians and American Indians were left standing. "It's propagandizing and brainwashing that's going on there," Tom Horne, the new attorney general said earlier this week referring to the Latino program.

  From Drudge last week:
Arizona state officials have won a significant legal battle in a long-running saga over a controversial Tucson schools ethnic-studies program, with a federal judge ruling that a law designed to ban it is constitutional. Authorities instrumental in the law's passage said Monday that they feel vindicated in their efforts to ban what they deemed to be racially divisive courses in public schools. The challenge to the new state law was initially launched in 2010 by teachers of the Tucson Unified School District Mexican-American studies program, which offered a slate of history, government and literature classes at four high schools.
From two years ago.

Big deal.  What do they want, a medal?  Once again, too little, too late.

State officials should make themselves useful and deploy the Arizona National Guard on a" training mission" along it's southern border with Bradley IFV's, dismounted infantry with fixed bayonets, and multipurpose drug detection/attack dogs.

Show me some a few thousand bayonet/dog-bite wounds, a few hundred seized vehicles, and a few tractor-trailer rigs full confiscated of meth - every month for a year - and I will begin to be impressed.

Let AZ public school students study THAT for a while.

some i know once said: "We're living in the era of the tyranny of minorities..."

this is just one example of "Catering" to minorities.

we DO live in the era of hyphenated america: AFRICAN-American, MEXICAN-American, POLISH-American, GERMAN-American, IRISH-American, etc, etc,etc...

what ever happened to the time when people immigrating here left the old country behind and became Americans?

now, they want to change us into "The old country".

do NOT misunderstand...i am NOT saying persons should not be allowed to practice their "Old country customs and language" within their homes; that's their right and privilege. what i do NOT agree with is..."We demand sharia law" and the like...if they want the "Old country" ways, customs, laws, culture, why come here?
don't squat while wearing your spurs...will rogers

Why ? Because we let them . By the truckloads anymore . There is not a city block in this town that
doesn't have a Mexican food eatery on it . Or a tortilla factory , burrito stands , Mexican flags
waveing , or everything in Spanish .

Many ethnic have not left the old country. At least here in Kansas about every group has some kind of festival or promotes some type of heritage. Just try to get good jobs or political positions in the Hays area without being tied to the Volga Germans. About 40 miles from me is a Swedish community and town. Their city hall displays the USA, Swedish, and state flags together at the same heights and size. If you look at newspaper opinion lines no one complains about these groups or their actions but every time their is a Cinco De Mayo celebration people carp about it all the time. Why is that?

Could be that I never had to listen to a speil in German or Swede when answering the phone before having to CHOSE my own countries language.
Or maybe it's because we don't have 11 million Swedes or Germans here illegaly sucking off American tax payers.
