Picked up an M 10 Remington today. Questions
« on: March 16, 2013, 04:09:16 PM »
I traded for an M10 Remington today. It's a really different shotgun and I have some questions. The gun needs a thorough cleaning, but I am not sure how to get the bolt out.  It looks like it is going to have to come out the back. So is the stock held on with the typical bolt through the stock? There is an atypical screw on top of the upper tang. Does this have anything to do with getting the back end apart?

I plan to cut the barrel down to make a slug gun. Given the price I got it for, I assume there isn't much collector value for the gun. I doubt I need any choke to shoot big buckshot and slugs.

Can't help you out much, but I'm pretty sure Remington has owner's manuals for most if not all of their old guns on their website.

Check Steves pages.com for a schematic - he has a whole bunch on his site, may have one for that.
