New Knife Build
« on: March 10, 2013, 05:08:10 PM »
My Son Recently took up Blacksmithing as a hobby. This is his first knife blade project, and mine putting on the scales. He has been turning out some nice Hawks made from Old B. P hammers, and decided to give knives a shot.
He made the blade from coil spring, and the ability to get a razor edge and hold it was quite impressive. I think we'll stick with full tang type knives, and see what happens.Nothing like beating on metal and sawing wood, to keep the neighbors happy :o

"Oh yea" Since the blade was high carbon steel, I put a blue job on it. Two coats of cold blue.

the right/left yardstick is a French Revolution-born human measure. It reflects the political spectrum, which is determined by the people’s range of beliefs. Christians, however (and everyone, in fact), should make Truth their yardstick. This inerrant guide doesn’t compromise and build consensus, either; it’s not a politician. It dictates where reality lies. And in a civilization claiming 2+2=5, it’s with the “extremist” who insists it’s 4. For God’s realism so often is man’s radicalism.

Nope! Just a hobby. His plans are to do more traditional stuff for family and friends.
