336 Rebarrel?

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has been down this road of rebarreling a 336.  I'm thinking of rebarreling a 45-70. It's 18" barrel is not in great shape and a longer ~26" 1:20 twist would be fun with black powder.
 
Worthwhile? Any thoughts on where to find a barrel?  I'm a little concerned about indexing and headspace so gunsmith recommendations would be great. A previous post mentioned Montana Rifleman. I think I'll call them, but their site didn't say much about leverguns.

Track of the Wolf has Green Mountain barrels.  Go to their site, then gun parts, barrels and large frame receivers.  They also have them for the Winchester profile - just look at what is there.  Any competent gunsmith should be able to install one.

Another possibility is to contact Marlin and see what they can do for you.  I had a .30-30 Cowboy barrel installed on a 336 action several years ago and they did a great job.

Try the Montana Rifleman.  Excellent work.  Add a www and a .com and you should hit their website.
