MarkJ_Thompson,
Are you feeling a bit ignored? Maybe we can get some answers for you if I post some old favorites
Hart and Douglas
I have two weapons with Douglas barrels and I am extremely happy with their quality.

Hodgdon, Lyman, Speer, Sierra, Hornady = reliable resources
so and so's pages on the internet = not reliable resources
Alway check loads you find on the internet against manuals.
NEVER exceed maximum listed loads.

I don't really feel ignored. I understand most people are purchasing off the shelf weapons because it suits their need.
I just was looking for ideas and maybe some testimony on barrels. I thought there would be a few people that had a "Mom and Pop" company they knew of and we didn't.
I was just thinking of building another .308WIN....maybe I should just buy one?
haha
