I think the answer is to compress the FFg more. Generally, it needs at least 0.250 compression to shoot clean and consistently. I did most of my .43 shooting with Elephant, which needs less compression-my recollection was that I got nearly 1400 fps with that load.
I'd caution you about overdoing it with a smokeless duplex load. FFFg generates higher pressure, too.
Try going up in 2 grain increments and compressing the powder more. I'll bet you'll get better results.
There's not much help for the recoil-these rifles are definitely on the light side. If you don't have the good recoil pad Buffalo Arms sells, they help a lot.
