43 spanish load

ihave a 79 argentine cal 43 spanish  it holds 90 grains goex 2f  lightly compressed with a 370 gr buffalo arms bullet it kicks pretty hard with this load and is dirty  anyone have any thoughts on a 1f load to slow it down i only shoot it for fun   thanks artr

1F granulation is not suitable for BPCR cartridges.  It's more meduium/large bore cannon only.

Some BP shooters put up to 5% of fast burning smokeless rifle powder under the BP to get cleaner burning.  

I would try a beeswax wad under the bullet and FFF to get cleaner burning.

Sometimes a hotter (WW LR) primer helps too.

I think the answer is to compress the FFg more.  Generally, it needs at least 0.250 compression to shoot clean and consistently.  I did most of my .43 shooting with Elephant, which needs less compression-my recollection was that I got nearly 1400 fps with that load.  

I'd caution you about overdoing it with a smokeless duplex load.  FFFg generates higher pressure, too.

Try going up in 2 grain increments and compressing the powder more.  I'll bet you'll get better results.

There's not much help for the recoil-these rifles are definitely on the light side.  If you don't have the good recoil pad Buffalo Arms sells, they help a lot.
