Ultimate Equipment M1911 Folder
« on: February 22, 2013, 07:56:21 AM »
I like cool matching stuff and when I ran across this knife with changable scales I knew I had to have one and set it up to match the grips on my Vaquero. It's made by Ultimate Equipment in Canada. Good reviews on this knife too. Here's a pic from the website where my Vaquero grips came from ( Rio Grande Grips ) and my Vaquero pic. Anyone here have one of these knives ?

Mine's pretty good as far as construction, fit & finish goes. Came razor sharp. I polished a radius on the outside corners of the frame so it's more comfortable to grip. Lock is unique and works as well as most lock back knives. I haven't used it for much other than opening letters so I can't say how well it would hold up for daily use. Seems sturdy though. Honestly, it's not very 'ergonomic' compared to most folding knives. Has a high 'neato' factor though (that's why I bought it).

The parts are made in China and assembled in Canada.

I was wanting one for the "neato" or "cool" factor too. A big knife with scales that match my custom grips is high on my "cool" factor.

My M1911 folder came in earlier this week. The custom grips for a 1911 that now will become scales for it came in today. This knife is built like a tank and with the grips, the cool factor is very high.  8)

 Beautiful set.

I have a SS Vaquero Talo edition with birds head grip in 45 ACP. Maybe Ruger will come out with grips for the SR1911 with their logo in the same wood as my Vaquero's.  :)
