Remington 11-87 ftf

I've got an  11-87 that's having ftf problems.it'll eject the empty and lock back without releasing next shell.when I push bolt release and work it the shell comes out no problem.sometimes it'll shoot two but never all there.if I work it by hand it works perfectly.I took it all apart and can't fin d anything that's broke or bent.the o ring looks ok and pretty sure those rings are in the right order but not positive.I got this gun on a trade and never had one so my knowledge is limited to say the least.it looks like the thing on the side that keeps the shells in the magazine won't push back far enough or the main spring is binding up and wont work the acti on completely.would a bad o rig cause that? Any help would be appreciated cause IM out of ideas.don't understand why it  fast or slow by hand but not by itself.any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks

Call Remington tomorrow, tell them what is happening and they will tell you to send it to them by Fed Ex.
They will play with it for a week or two and send it back working.

Try a good cleaning first.  Could just be dirty and gummed up inside - maybe the shell stop (that thing on the side) isn't working freely.
 
Field strip it and flush everything out good with some spray cleaner and then try it again.  You can probably download a manual from Remington for instructions on field stripping.

Yeah I took it apart and cleaned it good.it's only had a a box or so shot through it.or so the guy that stuck me with it said.the shell stop seems to be fine.easy enough to push in.it's like it thinks it's empty after every shot.it's like it has one of those levers to block the magazine but it don't.lol.I know I sound ignorant but that's best way I can explain it.

As a rule, they're a pretty dependable and trouble free gun so I'd guess most likely it's something relatively simple causing the problem.   Could be a number of things causing it, but sometimes if you play with it long enough you'll suddenly see the problem.
 
Good luck with it - I know how frustrating it is to buy or trade into a new gun and then not have it work!

Sounds like the action bar is not contacting the feed latch to drop a shell out of the mag tube.  There is a small nub on the action bar that contacts the feed latch (bar lying on the left side of the receiver) that moves it over so a shell can drop down.   I had to replace a feed latch on a 11-87 because the tip of the feed latch broke off and it would let a 2nd shell drop down behind the floor plate.

I agree but rather than prying on the bar, rather than trying to figure out the timing of the action.  Just call Remington adn talk to them.  It will cost you postage (fed Ex) to send it back and a couple weeks for them to send it back to you.

I went back through it tonight and tried to check things  you mentioned.for some reason it works perfectly by hand.I looked at the action bar and it looked fine.seems to move the feed latch far enough the best I could feel.compared it to one that works n only diferece i can see is maybe the feed latch is sticking out a little farther.

Well good news.I looked at numrichs prices and the action bar was like $100 and the feed latch was over $20 plus shipping.so I decided to call Remington.I got a very friendly guy that grew up close by. I gave him the serial number and told him what was goin on and he said it was under warranty and they would fix it and emailed me a free ups label.the nearest hub to me was in Dublin VA.I took it up there yesterday. I was a little worried about having everything right for shipping.almost as easy as putting a letter in the mailbox.the lady that worked there was very nice and helpful.it took like a minute.literally. if you're near Dublin I'd suggest goin there.easy to get to .so needless to say I'm very happy.thank y'all for the help.I appreciate all the replys.
