« on: February 15, 2004, 02:57:33 AM »
I just bought a m70 sporter in 7mm stw and need some help on where to find some reloading data. All the manuals I have don't list it.

Also what would be the best bullet for use on deer with it,I have a 7mm rem mag and use 140 nosler bt with good results,I just wounder if there tough enough for the higher velocity.

thank for any help you can give.

I've shot several deer with my 7STW and 140gr B-Tips. You get dramatic kills with massive destruction on broadside chest hits. Lots of meat loss and deer that look more like P-Dogs gone airborne.
If you hit shoulder bone or other tough entry points, you may have a surface wound and a lost deer.
The 7STW produces too much velocity for B-Tips unless you are making hits at extended range. A much better choice, and similar bullet, would be the Nosler Accubond in 140gr or 160gr. The Accubonds are proving to be very accurate in many guns. The Hornady Interbonds may also work well but I haven't shot any of them yet.

Here is one place that you can find 7STW loading data. If you use a search engine to look for "7STW data" or someting similar you will find tons of information.
