Got this in 1970

I was 16 years old and in Germany with my dad, he was in the army. I was pretty good at hunting dove and quail with my 870 back home in Kentucky, so I signed up one Saturday to try my luck in a skeet tournament at Rhine Main air base. I came in first place in my age group and won a $50.00 gift certificate at the Rod & Gun club. For just a few dollars more, 29 to be exact I was the proud owner of a 357 Magnum Blackhawk. Nice gun.  Always good to have an old friend like that.   My first Ruger is a MK 1 target I got about 1979.

looks to be in great shape still for an old flat top. Quite a few of them went through my hands years ago. Most used for conversions to differnt calibers or used for trading stock. Never been a big fan of the 357 but kind of wish i would have kept one flat top just to shoot. I had one real nice 4 5/8s gun that should have stayed here. even in the 80s they a guy could find nice ones for around 200 bucks. NOT ANY MORE!

Nice vintage keeper there and well done for the way you got it!
I dragged my feet on getting a BH until recently and finally got the 50th An. 357, which is very nice BTW (check one out Lloyd, if you can) in fit, finish and function. Im glad I waited.

ive had two of the aniversary flat top 357s and still have an aniverary 44 mag that dustin linebaugh installed a custom 4 5/8s barrel on. there nice guns but just not the same as an old 3 screw.

i had that same gun i purchased early 80's.hunted with it and shot it for years. during a stupid moment i sold it to my brother.he will not sell it back to me!im very dissapointed in him.
