Ya know Bobby, I've thought about that and haven't tried it.  I couldn't find any data on it.  Tim and I are shooting 213 gr. .38-55s over it and I'm getting 2275 fps out of an 18 inch barrel.  It's made me wonder what it would do in the Maxi.  I'll be watching this one.

The new Hornady Book lists one load for the Max. with a 200 gr. bullet but it only reaches 1600 FPS.  I too, use it in my 38-55 (Marlin 336 bored out by Ocumpaugh to 38-55 with a true .375 bore) to .375 Win. range with Hornady 220 gr. bullets and it functions great, with no probs.  I have read only good things about it in pistol calibers in rifles.

Look out Pete. :o   Mind your Ps and Qs :-[ .  You're among the Clergy ::)

Seriously guys, I'm very curious about it with the 180 SSP.  Perhaps someone will stroll along with an idea for a starting load we can play with.

Ya Bobby it works , I have found it to be just Ok in the bullet range of 158g to 200g , its no real barn burner though , H110 does a better job as far as speed & group size , it seems to favor cast bullets better than jacketed too .

If you want to try it , here's some data . 158g to 200 g = 17.0g to 24.5g , and as always , start low and work up .

MD Smith has some data for RL 7 and heavier bullets.  He just added .357 Maximum to his listing.  ;)

**edit**
I've never gotten anything but good data from him, so I can safely say it's good stuff...  ;)
