Almost thought I was cured
« on: December 28, 2012, 01:38:11 PM »
Today, I got my 25-06 Handi back from Brian @ Ilion with a shiny new barrel that actually locks up great and
has a much nicer finish on it than the old floppy one did.
Big thanks to Brian for the great personal service.

I had been drooling over a 45-70 for a year now, no one ever had one in stock.
I had talked myself out of lusting after one, figuring I have enough guns already,
be content with what I have.
Today, on the way home from hanging posters for our winter gong shoots, I made the mistake of wandering down the
gun isle. There it was, a brand new 22" 45-70 with irons, for 289.00.
OH crap! I'm now I've got it really bad again.
Its a good thing its the end of the month and I'm broke, but the plotting and schemes keep rolling through my head :-\
I hope its gone by payday, or is a see a lay away in my future.
How long does the "Handi flu" take to get over anyway? ;D

Jim.....Wrong place for that question.  You already know the answer you're gonna get.  I can't believe it's still on the shelf.  Ya gotta remember "He who hesitates is lost."  When you finally yield, quit, surrender, or whatever, it'll be gone and some nimrod who hasn't got a clue will have it.  Do yourself and all of us here a favor and run down there tomorrow and nail it down. ;)   Be a good boy.

Have a Happy New Year with your .45-70 8)

Once you've been to 'Handiland' you'll always want to come back and try another ride.  Get used to it.

Happy New Year.

Happy New Year.

ya, I got my first Handi at age 12, A Topper combo, 30-30 / 20guage with case colored action.
34 years later I regretted getting rid of it and ended up with a 25-06 and a 7mm-08.

Hmm, keeping some one else from catching the bug, hadnt thought of that for justification

HELP!

Lovin' my .444 handi was planning on getting another before Christmas but with the ammo/magazine craze going I had to jump on as many Ruger 10/22 mags as I could grab.  Luckily I managed to get enough to suit me before the prices went through the roof.

Ruger BX-25 for $22 each is a deal.  At least now I don't have to worry about the gub'ment ruining my plinking fun.

Next on the list is either a 300 whisper or a 357 magnum.
