Has anyone here rechambered a 223Rem to 225 Win? Yes I know it would need a different extractor.

Many members here have had their 223 Handis rechambered to 225 Win, Fred at 4D has been reminded to update his list more than once, just not a priority I guess.  ::)

I should have asked what extractor that people that have done this used?  308 /243 Win sounds like the most likely to uses.

Yup, one of the 30-06 family of extractors/ejectors would work, going from rimless to rimmed requires the removal of the lift button on an ejector barrel tho.

after I posted that, I tried to find a chamber diagram, and was unable to.

I'm going to look it up in my conversion book.

What cheap brass converts?  3030?

Has anyone ever used the 30-30 brass and left the rim (kinda a 22-30-30 IMP)?
If a 225 win reamer was used and 225 Win dies and a 30-30 extractor/ejector then the process would be simpler than turning the rims
 Just a thought

ream with the 225 to proper headspace

then take a 3030 reamer, and cut it off, and dull the chamber flutes, then use it to recut the proper rim recess.

if you leave in the extractor, it should cut it properly at the same time

No??

A 22-30-30 is basically  a 219 Zipper and there's an improved version as well as being the inspiration for the 219 Donaldson Wasp, and more.  I looked at starting with 30-30 brass for my 225 stub but quickly decided to just buy official 225 Win brass and save the trouble. Guess I just prefer spending time hunting coyotes than working at the reloading  bench.  I'm sure it can be done just a matter of time and effort.

A friend of mine re-chambered my 223 Handi to 225 Win.  It's an ejector.  I don't recall us doing anything to the ejector at all.  It was in place when the chamber was reamed, I think.

I love it.  I bought 225 brass.  Shoots less than MOA.
