$400 dollar Handi rifle with a $600 suppressor and a $1,400 scope.  There a 5 currently on Gunbroker.  Don't worry, I won't be bidding against you.

I will not either, but I appreciate the link. What this does do, is confirm the performance of the cartridge/ gun combination. This could mean the continued production of the product by H&R / Remington. Absent the rebirth of a 32/20, this seems to have grabbed the imagination of writers etc sideways through the AR crowd , some of which can appreciate the short and light weight qualities, as well as the performance options when it is NOT in a semi-auto format. It also does my old heart good to see the development of a cartridge that flies in the face of the "magnumization" craze that strikes off and on.
Given the ubiquitous nature of 223/5.56 brass, and the ease of converting it to 300 AAC, there is as good a chance as for success as I have seen in a long while. I can only hope. :) 8)

nice little package . If you want a compact that can be carried around in a small case it seems the ticket. I think I would rather have a Rem Mod.  7 with custom bbl say 16.5 inches and suppressor over a break open gun but the cost might be half again as more. My son has one of those guns in 17HMR and it is quite accurate so I don't doubt the 300 would  be. I agree about the magnum craze I got over it along with the big bang . Now I like quiet. I have been shooting 30 carbine rounds in my 308 by way of a MCA adapter . It works well accurate for what it is and not hard on the ears as 308.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

My FFL told me that he was on the phone to the Wholesaler when they got 15 in. The wholesaler said that 12 were claimed by other employees and 1 by the salesman he was talking with so that left 2 which my FFL took. My FFL claimed one for himself and sold me the last one.
$350, no suppressor planned, and it is a natural for the Tasco Bantam that is still on sale for $20.

Since the current production has not gotten them to the shelves yet, you  may be right.

I have a lot of Handi's, and this is the shortest, lightest, and handiest.

...hard to believe that this is a deer-class rifle.

Savage in .223 and an after market 300BLK barrel set me back less than $450.
..... I like the Handi better.

I bought one the other day and really like it. Had to get me a full size stock. Just been shooting it a little while but its doing nearly 1" at a hundred with little gun and 125 serria's. Two things to look for, scope base needs to be locktited and the sling stud in front was touching the barrel. Not planning on a suppersor. Really like that it doesn't take a lot of powder. James

I'm into the BIG MAGNUM myself, I shoot a 338/378 Weatherby.  Love knocking Moose down at 800+ yards.  But I am also into shooting subsonic.  I have a 30-06 with a suppressor, and am loading Trail Boss.  I have loaded up some 165gr Sierria HPBT backwards, will go to the range next week and try them for accuracy.

My partner and I have been working on .223 loads that are around 1900 fps, to try and slow them down so we don't blow foxes in half yet have enough to take down Coyotes, and maybe even a Wolf.  He wants to stay with the .223, but I think this .300 Blackout may be a better way to go.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I assume you have the HPBT's backwards to get an FMJ with a big Meplat for limited pelt damage?

I loaded the 147 FMJ's backwards to get a big hollow-point. Too explosive.
