First outing with 243 Handi
« on: December 09, 2012, 07:59:56 AM »
Went to a gunshow and bought some 243 ammo  for my Handi heavy barrel. Rem. 100gr psp, Win 80gr sp. reload 55gr Nos BT and 4 Win unknown gr. Once it got dialed in with the odd shells and 80 gr I went to to 100gr psp. Very accurate gun at 50 yds. 5 0f 5 in a hald dollar sixed hole. The 55gr Nosler were about 2 in lower. Going out deer hunting in western WI and am going to take the 243. May even get bored and try to whack one of the pet coyotes we have. The neighbor always has some good stuff on his property that draws them in. One of our guys got one with a 375 h&h. Ended up with 2 short yotes.

For .243 yotes we use Hornady 58 grain V-Max Moly bullets with 43 grains of H4895... does a great job of making one dead yote, rather than two "short ones!"  ;D
