Slipping below the radar (or under the short-term memory cap), the Democrats have already leaked a gun-ban list, even under the Bush administration when they knew full well it had no chance of passage (HR 1022, 110th Congress). It serves as a framework for the new list the Brady’s plan to introduce shortly. I have an outline of the Brady’s current plans and targets of opportunity. It’s horrific. They’re going after the courts, regulatory agencies, firearms dealers and statutes in an all out effort to restrict we the people. They’ve made little mention of criminals. Now more than ever, attention to the entire Bill of Rights is critical. Gun bans will impact our freedoms under search and seizure, due process, confiscated property, states’ rights, free speech, right to assemble and more, in addition to the Second Amendment. Any semiautomatic rifle with a fixed magazine that can accept more than
10 rounds (except tubular magazine .22 rim fire rifles).
A semiautomatic pistol that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine, and has:
(i) a second pistol grip,
(ii) a threaded barrel,
(iii) a barrel shroud or
(iv) can accept a detachable magazine outside of the pistol grip, and
(v) a semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds.
A semiautomatic shotgun with:
(i) a folding or telescoping stock,
(ii) a pistol grip (see definition below),
(iii) the ability to accept a detachable magazine or a fixed magazine capacity of more than 5 rounds, and
(iv) a shotgun with a revolving cylinder.
Frames or receivers for the above are included, along with conversion kits.
Attorney General gets carte blanche to ban guns at will: Under the proposal, the U.S. Attorney General can add any “semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General.”Note that Obama’s pick for this office, Eric Holder, wrote a brief in the Heller case supporting the position that you have no right to have a working firearm in your own home. In making this determination, the bill says, “there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event.” In plain English this means that ANY firearm ever obtained by federal officers or the military is not suitable for the public.The last part is particularly clever, stating that a firearm doesn’t have a sporting purpose just because it can be used for sporting purpose — is that devious or what? If the list is true it will not happen. Not all democrats favor gun control or at least that far reaching gun control. The democrats are quicker learners than the republicans and know it will be political suicide if pushed much. Obama cannot be reelected but the democrats do not want to throw away any chance of his successor being elected. I just hope everyone does not go crazy again buying up everything gun related and driving prices sky high again over nothing but paranoia.

  I doubt it. Americans have been getting bent over by the government for a long time.  No one is going to stand up and fight.
 
  When the city of New London took peoples' homes by eminent domain and gave them to a condo developer, no one stood up.  If people won't fight for their homes, you think they'll fight for their gun?  With half of the gun owners in this country willing to say that people shouldn't have guns that aren't sporting (we've all heard it), you think they'll suddenly realize that we all hang together or be hanged separately?  No.  The Fudds will say "you don't need no gun but one like my granpappy had!" and smugly watch all the bad guns get melted.
 
  Watching the last election taught me something.  The public wants more of the status quo.  They overwealmingly  want the same as we've been treated to, so they sent the same cast of characters back to DC.  Like I said before, America has been getting bent over for a long time....and now a majority likes it like that.

You guys forget Obama is using executive orders, and government agencies to do things AROUND legislation.  EPA is the biggest right now.  This list was proposed by some California liberal from where I saw it.  I don't know if this is just their wish list, but so far no legislation has been introduced YET. 
 
Read Obama's book, he wants outright pistol ban, because most murders are committed with pistols in the inner cities.  (75% of murders are in 4 cities, New York, Chicago, LA, and Washington D.C).  If we could just convince these liberals that there is a bigger problem causing this, maybe they will try to address that problem.  I would bet that 20% of the other murders are in other big to medium sized cities like Detroit, Memphis, Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans, etc.  That would leave 5% for the entire rest of the country. 
 
We have to show them it isn't the guns, it is the location and environment there.

I don't trust him.  He said we could close loopholes in the tax code and get $800 billion in revenue over 10 years.  It was offered to him, now he wants 1.4 trillion in loophole closing and tax hikes both, but NO SPENDING CUTS.

What he wants and what he gets are two different things. States are slowly breaking away from the federal mentality and i suspect that they will do so over the firearm issue as well. I will silently make my decision if confiscation occurs and i have no fear ill be doing the right thing. I don't need to publicly announce it either but with pride, it will happen.

If it comes to pass, just don't turn them in. How man millions of guns can they take one by one. After a year or two when they find out it didn't work they will have to reconsider it. They can't put 30 million people in jail!!

Obama administration MUST be coming to take our Guns because they have been so quiet on the subject he must be secretly hatching an all out assault.  The NRA and gun dealers fear approach to drum up sales and donations.

The only gun-control laws Obama has signed as president have been to expand gun rights
allowing guns on national park lands
allowing guns on Amtrak trains.
He also said this year that “hunting and shooting are part of a cherished national heritage.”
