http://www.ebay.com/itm/COMPLETE-CONTENDER-GRIP-SET-OCTAGON-ROUND-AND-12-14-SUPER-THOMPSON-CENTER-07-/121033312076?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2e25c74c

I'm wondering if anyone here has bought a set, and can you comment? Texture, hardness, resistance to damage? Are there any sets in colors that don't make your eyeballs spin in their sockets, for example a custom set in solid black?

Does he offer any rifle stocks and forearms?

Thanks.

I have bought two sets and have been happy. I haven't used them a lot but they seem very durable.
They are hard and seem resistant to damage, and fit the frame well and feel good. As far as colors, I like them! The only solid colors I've seen have been for encore. :)

I'm real happy with them.

I appreciate the comment, and I am glad to hear they are a good product, but they should be - a comparable set would be US$310. I am trying to gain info about these plastic eBay copies of wood grips. I already have some very nice wood grips. I'm interested in these clones because I could use the plastic ones for rougher duty and put the wood grips back on for the rest of the time.

FWIW I did receive an answer to my email from the seller - he does not offer solid colors or rifle stocks. I suggested that he consider offering solids, and he will gain one customer, at least (me). I just don't like the party colors.... tho maybe I will buy a set and color them "HK Black" with DuraCoat....

The grips and forends you are interested in are in fact a decent product, but in no way can they be compared to the grips made my Tony Gettle, the ones mentioned in the other post. To me the grips Tony makes are far better and enhance the accuracy of your Contender, if you want a cosmetic change than the e-bay grips are fine, if you want a true work of art and enhanced accuracy and a true custom grip and forend than spend the extra money, a set of Tonys grips and forend can be had for around $160 and that includes a pillar bedding system. Have Fun! Shawn

I appreciate the info. But again, I am not looking for wood grips. I already have a fine set. You guys can stop trying to convince me otherwise now.....

My guess is that this guy has access to injection molding equipment and can justify the use of the scrap pieces that are discarded hence, the crazy colors. Depending on the material, recoil could stack or disfigured it. Id just buy T/C stuff if you want synthetic.

Painting plastic is a job for Krylon.  If it gets scratched up, sand and repaint.
What's my favorite Contender?  The one I'm shooting!
