Teflon vs stainless?

Would Teflon coating a blued receiver/barrel provide similar all weather protection as stainless? What about the trigger assembly? Do stainless rifles have stainless trigger assemblies or just the receiver and barrel?

The only way to get close to stainless using a chromoly action would be to Armaloy the barreled action. This material is used on the inside as well as the outside. It is rust proof, where as stainless is just rust resistant.. Armoloy is also very hard and slick. The disadvantage is the added cost. Most teflon or spray on finishes won't allow coating bores or tight fitting working parts so those remain vulnerable.

FWIW, Remington takes some of their SS Custom Shop rifles and coats them with black Teflon. It must have some positive effects for them to do it. The Alaskan Wilderness Rifle, the M7 Alaskan Wilderness Rifle, and some 40X models come to mind. MI VHNTR

Back 40, I would stick to the blued barrel, you don't want to take something shinny in the woods, all you need is the sun reflecting off of it, and your deer is gone.
