Kinda depends on which Bushy you start with!

For intrinsic accuracy, get a floated handguard tube if you haven't already. If the front sling swivel is still attached to the barrel, avoid exerting much tension on the sling while shooting.

For rifle/shooter interface, any number of drop-in triggers will certainly help matters. This assumes suitable sights or scope already aboard.

That's what I do with 'em and mine shoot very well!

Fun guns.

the number one thing to do first off isCHANGE THAT MILITARY TRIGGER! Don't ask me which one to get, cause i haven't changed mine yet, but it's the only part of a bushmaster that's horrible...

To enhance the accurracy of any AR-STYLE rifle, you first must know your rate of twist in the barrel, 1-7 handles 55gr, 1-8 handles both 55gn and 62 gn, from here you will elect to have a target crown installed, throat and polish the feed ramp and open up to a M-4 style feed ramp, this will aid in less bullet deformation while shooting soft pointed rounds and h.p., next is have the trigger honed and trued, I
like to keep them in 3.5lbs area when I rework stock trigger and hammers.
Next the free float tube does what it say`s it removes any and all forward pressure from the barrel allowing it to go thru its harmonic`s, keeping ridge at the receiver.
And abve all good quality ammo, the guns that are shown in the magazines with group sizes .5 moa , they top quality match ammo.

Just out of curiosity, what weight bullet would you recommend for a 1-in-9 twist .223 rifle?

I would also suggest getting rid of the barrel if it is crome lined. Crome lined barrels increase barrel life, but usually decrease accuracy due to the inability to get a perfect unifored lining in the bore. I have a DPMS 16" SS bull 1-8 twist grouping .50 " 5 shot groups @ 100yrds using 55 gr hornady v-max bullets.
