Browning 1911 .22

Does anyone have any experience with this pistol?
I handled one today and it seems to be just about what I'm looking for plus it seems to be US made. It's not too big and not too small for my long fingers. The sights may need some work.

I don't have one, but will share the reason I don't.  I think there are a sweet little handgun and  I was ready to pick one up at my favorite shop.  I was handling it and my friend in the shop pointed out that I was probably going to get nasty hammer bite from it.  The web between my thumb and forefinger is pretty fleshy and extends just a little over the fairly short beavertail of the Browning.  May be fine for you, but something to check.

My only concern is that it is not full sized, as I have a number of 1911s  I like to keep things as close as I can.  I took a receiver and put on a Ciener Platinum Cup upper.  Very accurate, 2 drawbacks for some, doesn't stay open on last shot, but has a 15 round magazine, and requires Hi-Speed ammo.

A friend of mine loaned me one probably 40 years ago  and I shot it quite a bit wonderful pistol.I think it was a Colt nichol plated and fun to shoot,I want another one.

I have a conversion for my 1911s, a Browning MicroBuckmark, and a Ruger MII. I like .22s. :)
 
Many small .22 handguns have come and gone from my safe but none fit the bill. I looked for a PPK variant or an Astra and they're hard to find at a fair price. With the Astra mags are hard to find. Berreta 21s sights are hard for me to see but they are reliable. The Browning looks like it may fit the bill for a trail and trapline pistol.
 
I'll find out soon and let you folks know how it goes.

I once had the Colt factory conversion kit for a 1911 it was really bad .
