Throat reamer 45-120
« on: September 23, 2012, 02:12:29 PM »
I had my 120 for afew years now and shoot mostly 300 gr. Barnes X Bullets.I want to shoot longer 525 Hunter cast bullets, but the 120 won't close with them in it.I did a search on here about the .458 throat reamer and someone said it was to short to do the 120.Is the one at 4-D still to short.

You just have to use an extension with it.

I cobbled together an extension when I did mine.  I sent it to Ty (tykempster) when I was finished with it.  I guess he still has it.  I remember him talking about it recently.

The GBO .458" throater has a ¼" round shank with a flat, I think a ¼" drill bit extension would work with it, but I haven't tried it,  the 4D throater has a standard 3/8" square drive like all the other GBO reamers.
