Mohammed Morsi warns US it needs to change Middle East policy Mohammed Morsi has warned the United States that its Middle East policies must change after the Arab Spring, and the onus is on Washington to heal its fraught relationship with the region.      Mohammed Morsi warns US it needs to change Middle East policy  President Mohammed Morsi Photo: AP/How Hwee Young       By Phoebe Greenwood, Jerusalem 6:20PM BST 23 Sep 2012

In interviews on the eve of his departure for the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Egyptian president gave an uncompromising critique of US policies in the Middle East, underscoring his growing reputation as figurehead of a new, democratic, defiant, and often Islamist Arab world.   He warned the US that its promotion of Israeli interests ahead of Palestinian independent has fostered deep anti-American sentiment across the Arab World.
He also said it was important to have a "strong relationship" with Iran, with which Egypt has had no diplomatic relations for more than 30 years.
Speaking a little over a week after four Americans were killed and others injured in mob attacks on US embassies in Libya, Yemen and Egypt, Mr Morsi told the New York Times: "Successive American administrations essentially purchased with American taxpayer money the dislike, if not the hatred, of the peoples of the region."
He said Washington had failed in its "special responsibility" to Palestinians as a signatory of the 1978 Camp David Accords, which bound the US to oversee the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the West Bank and Gaza and aid Palestinian independence.

That sounds like a responsible and factual answer to me without any radical tones injected. I would wager if I gambled that his advise will be ignored by whoever sits in the WH after Jan 2013.

BTW The wording" warns" is an interesting choice by the journalist/editor. I would have used the terms suggests, caution or advice. ;)

Don't know, Obama said in his book that he would side with the "Muslims over Israel" if it came down to it.  That being said, it is time to pull the money for foreign aid.  We can't afford it anymore.  Wonder how long they will last without our "foreign aid".  A lot is military, but a lot is food.  Egypt several years ago quit growing a lot of their own food along the Nile.  They instead started growing cotton, and they built textile factories.  Idea was, farmers could still make money, either from cotton or food, but it would give people in the cities jobs in the textile industry to sell to Europe and the US.  Now, if we pull the money they use for food, they will go hungry, or have to go back to growing their own and forfeit their textiles.  Hmmm.  Who holds the cards?  They can't make the weapons we sell them, especially planes and tanks.  Now again, Russia or China might step in with "foreign aid" in weapons, and Russia might have some excess wheat to sell.

They seem to forget the Palis had a very generous offer..where they could get back much of the land they lost through their aggressive efforts during the 1967 and Yom Kippur wars...but old "liver lips" Arafat rejected the special concessions offered by the Israelis.

pretty much.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.
