Is it just me, or should a US president be more dignified..
« on: September 21, 2012, 05:15:10 AM »
Perhaps I am a bit staid in my attitude, but I believe a president of the US and 'leader of the free world' should act with more dignity.  Comportment speaks loudly to both our friends and enemies.  I personally believe that when a president acts like some kind of "teeny -bopper"..it lowers others estimation of our entire nation..

I prefer to back up and look at the bigger picture. Every once in a while we get a bad president. Obama is one of the bad ones. Carter was the previous bad one. Bush W. was just incompetent in some key areas, like government spending. Obama's incompetent across the board, with a few minor exceptions. I think he'll be remembered that way. History does have a way of catching up with people.

The appeasement tour (aka apology tour)...the resulting backlash...invalidating US bankruptcy law to pay off political cronies in unions...soaring deficit...borrowing 40 cents on every dollar spent...attempting to compensate for bad public policy with bad monetary policy...creating a significant class of unemployed people...a significantly declined standard of living (10% drop for middle class Americans since 2009)...lost opportunities...broken promises...it's a long list.

I thought about including the pic of President Bush flipping the bird, but that would just be fodder for deleting the post, so I won't. how about these? Dignified... heh heh heh

At this point, I wouldn't care if the president wore funny clothes and a clown nose on his face every day if he had the honest patriotic wherewithal to run this country the way it is supposed to be run according to the founding documents, laws and some common sense thrown in.

... a president of the US and 'leader of the free world' should act with more dignity.

No POTUS should ever have to be encouraged to act with dignity in all situations, on and off camera. Dignity should be part and parcel of his persona before, during and after his term in office.

If Dubya continued with that particular demonstration for some time, he wasn't being dignified.   Now, I'm not sure about the first photo of Bush YT posted (even though the light, shading and head placement is incongruous)..but the second one was obviously photoshopped.  Or can we believe everything we see on the internet, YT?
As far as  "dignity in office" ..Ronald Reagan always gave us confidence that his demeanor, poise and presence, would always reflect what people of all cultures would expect from the leader of the free world.
How do we know the 2nd photo was photoshopped?  Easy..1) the obvious difference in shadows, lighting and the easy to spot point of clipping..  2)  If such a thing had occurred the partisan networks would have splashed such an event until everyone was tired of it.
Which leads me to doubt phot#1...for the same reason.  You tried to "spread it a bit thick" that time YT.. ;)
See below...the standard of maturity, respect and honor for ALL of today's  presidents should aim for!!!
BTW: Which one comes closer..Obama or Romney?

With Obama everything is about him. Satrted with his papers in college and follows up to now with his actions concerning anything related to state or law. A pshchiatrist compared him to Hitler and Stallin and others concerning his dealing with matters of state. His actions are solely based on the outcome that "he" wants. He ignores law and the constitution. But then again so did the Republicans concerning the nomination of the Rep presidential candidate. ear

What bothers me most about Obama doesn't have a lot to do with him being a jive anything, it is the fact that he is a lying communist and a shameless racist.

I think Condie Rice would be a great choice as a VP candidate.  She has confidence, poise and a no nonsense demeanor.   Plus she has a great deal of experience in dealing with foreign affairs.

For that matter I think she would be a whole lot better POTUS than the jerk that's in office now.

They live among us, alright.  The devil always works and looks like an angel. I don't care how dignified somebody appears, I'm more interested in what they do, mean, and stand for.

Ditto TM:
   So let's see what Obama has done and what he obviously stands for;
1) He took 1/7th of our economy and put it into a mbogus medical scheme which most of us did not want.
2) He has expanded the govt "nanny state" exponentially..creating a whole, newdependency/entitlement class.
3) He believes in being Robin Hood or Jesse James..stealing from the rich to give to the "poor"..that makes all three just common crooks.
4) Intentionally shipped jobs/contracts overseas..e.g. gave the Beechcraft contract to a Soros owned Brazilian aircraft co...he sent the offshore drilling rigs to Brazil..to drill for a Soros ownes oil co..and gave them 2,000,000,000 of our dollars to boot.
5) He promised Putin he would be "more flexible"..should he be re-elected.  What do you suppose he meant?
6) He is in process of reducing our military capability to dangerous levels...inviting attack.
7) He has changed the mission of NASA..from space exploration..to a muslim self-esteem bolstering society.
 8) He has racked up more debt for our grandchildren than all previous presidents combined.
9) He has "invested" taxpayer's hard earned money in one loser after another..e.g. Solyndra, Fiskars..battery companies, solar panels etc, etc.
10) He has insulted our flag, faith and heritage all too often to believe he is truly an American at heart...e.g.  "bitter clingers", no longer a Christian nation..but the west's largest muslim nation..

I could go on and on, but why bother.. most everybody could enlarge this list by miles...

Below; see dignity & gravity in office; compared to disrespect and dipstick in office:

Sorry 2/blocked... that shop job doesn't even look like Reagan..and did you notice..the thumbs are behind his head..not in his ears as is the usual pattern? ...And how often is a person angry in the extreme, when they employ that humorus, mocking, gesture?
        Nice try, but still bogus...

Even if he had done it...how does that compare with cavorting on stage with a boasting lesbian?  Difference being, obama brags about his own participation in childish activities.. ;)

More than a nice try... it's not bogus, it's the truth. That photo of Reagan has been around for long before most folks knew what photoshop was, and long before it became a verb.

Not very observant, are you DB!  You have 2 very different pictures there..one with thumbs behind the head, th eother with thumbs near the ears...looks very much like two parts of a video which actually shows a complete gesture, such as one may use when he says something like, "I've had enough of their lies"..then raises his hands behind his head and slams them down on the podium..  The only place it seems videos can be found where he wears a tux and has the presidential seal affixed on the podium..is with his addresses at C-pac...and he isn't likely to give the "thumbs in ears, Ya Ya waggle" to his major contributors.  The angry expression gives away the probability of his "had it with lies" gesture.
The far-leftie "tripe blogs" use the color version in their blogs..without explanation or context..so it is likely clipped from a video.  Knowing liberals are great at "lies by ommission", I  Won't believe their insinuations until I am provided context..

In any case, here are some great cartoons, showing the Gipper giving the Obamanation some lessons on economics:
