250 grain 45-70?

This may have come up before and I missed it, but I noticed that Hornady has a 250 gr. , .458 bullet available.  Has anyone tried these in the 45-70?  Will they stabilize ok?

Barnes makes a 250 also,but i never tried either

They will stabilize just fine.   When you should have concerns of stability is when you are using longer bullets and/or slower velocities.

I drill out my 300JHP's to 250-260 grains for varmint use.    They have a trajectory of a rainbow due to lower BC's, but are devastating on chucks.
