Your right BBF looks to me like we are going to have to fight for Japan and give up on Taiwan.

If they were doing it over here in our country, then it would be a concern.  Why are whites over there?  Americans need that explanation.
.
Resource and corporate wars. Lybia is now a British and French oil patch...
.
Ever read about Lybian society under Gaddaffi?....that wasn't going to be allowed for too long.

There are ways for peoples to coexist without them having to be physically together.   When will America recognize this reality and pull our people out of danger?  We need to repair our foreign policy so it is one of mutual respect among different peoples and groups, not one of continual conflict for the benefit of a few.

Exactly, Hairy Chest.  Spot on.
Mutual respect, and a regard for self-determination and national sovereignty.   Good fences/good neighbors.  Fair trade.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
It is simple.

That's right.  When we look at a situation, we must ask ourselves, "How would we like it if they were doing that to us?"  Respect all nations and peoples and you will earn their respect.  Disrespect other nations and cultures for the benefit of a few leads to perpetual conflict at America's expense.   :D
Study after study has shown how dangerous distracted driving is yet people continue to talk on their cell phones while driving. Driving in the U.S. requires your full attention. Many states and countries have made it illegal to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and the federal government should follow their lead. Banning the use of cell phones while driving would have the added benefit of making the no-texting law enforceable.

Where would we possibly be today if we had never gone to war in the middle east including the first gulf war in 91 and instead had spent maybe even 25% percent of the war costs on energy independence? My guess is that we would that today we would be 100% self reliant on energy and have a much, much better economy.

rickt300....it is highly debatable if the average Iraqi's life is better off.  Aside from the fact that their stabilizing dictator and ex US ally Sad'dam (US always eventually turns on its dictators) is gone. 3 million Iraqis have been killed and maimed or refuged., Birth defects are rampant owing to poisoning their countryside with Depleted Uranium (a form of genocide actually and illegal). Their entire infrastructure destroyed, their ancient national antiquities and culture stolen, women now reduced backwards to old Muslim standards (Iraqi women were among the most educated in the world and worked routinely in their secular society as equals). Their medical system and infrastructure are in shambles from attacks and years of embargoes. Routinely there are rival terrorist attacks or US-isreali drone bot attacks which we can not tell apart. And foreign occupiers everywhere and they have lost control of their national resources.
.
I could go on, but I'm pretty certain if you told an 'average Iraqi', "Well you're better off now, right!" He or her will tell you to go to he!! and fry ice. Same with the average Lybian after NATO onslaught, and same with the average Afghan, too.

Funny how the post this reply is aimed at disappeared. TM I am certain you don't believe freedom is worth fighting for and is too costly to keep. Living in fear under Hussein could not be better than what they have now.

No I didn't remove the post and I know there was no personal attack or profanity in it. I didn't feel personally threatened bySaddam Hussein myself either but the fact remains he was a ruthless, murderous dictator and his secret service did try to assasinate a previous head of state. That is an act of war just as the assasination of Ambassador Stevens is. Finisher I have no idea where you are coming from. Is this how you feel, I was asking what others think in this thread and you are the first to come up with a plan though a poor one at best. One should question how many Americans should die over protecting the dignity of the Koran and Mohamed.

Thanks for the link. A very interesting leftist view of the world shown there and an absolutely wonderful platform for the socialist/progressive. I went to Wikipedia after reading several articles at the commondreams website. The view there was somewhat different on the Bush sr. assasination attempt.

IPS is interesting in it's own right. It's mission being to"Bear the hopes of the third world countries and peoples for a new international economic order and, as a consequence a new information and communication order within the framework of the United Nations, in other words make the voice of the voiceless heard". I can see Hillary Clinton making the same statement.

What I was getting at is that media is certainly slanted one way or the other, you tend to pick the ones more of a progressive nature. You could if you looked find many reports saying that the assasination conspiracy existed. As for our president I bear him no ill will as he exists to satisfy the slot as an extremely bad example of a progressive/ socialist. I just want him out of the presidency. And no I missed that thread but too bad.

I'm the one removing posts from this thread and have already banned one member for life as a result of this thread. If some don't tread a bit more lightly and stay within site rules he may not be the last to be banned.

Address the topic NOT each other. Stop the name calling, personal attacks and baiting that is going on here.
