Help on sighting in 209X50 please
« on: February 08, 2004, 01:15:05 PM »
Finally got to do some sighting in of the stainless 209X50 Encore today.  Only problem was the indoor range was limited to 30 yards.

Was shooting 240 grain saboted bullets and was told that about an inch high would calculate pretty well for 100 yards.  Can anyone confirm that this is about right until I can get outside to test it at 100 yards?

I was very pleased with the rifle and the ease with which it shoots with two 777 50 grain pellets.  Dod shoot a 300 grainer that seemed to be dead on at the same 30 yard range.

Being a handgun guy most of my life, this scoped rifle sighting is a bit new to me but I sure am having fun with it.  Love the accuracy.

Thanks!

Mike

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems just the opposite
is true.  If sighted in @ 100 yds, it should be shooting low closer in with
the same scope settings. The higher the rings, the more pronounced
this would be.
