Mitt Obamney praises fellow liberal Bill Clinton
« on: September 08, 2012, 04:07:33 PM »
"Real Conservatives" should be proud of themselves when they vote for this guy:

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/romney-clinton-did-elevate-democratic-convention-215344170--election.html

Mitt Romney says Bill Clinton's speech to the Democratic National Convention "really did elevate" that gathering and that the former two-term president might even be able to win another four years in the White House "if the Constitution weren't in his way." Romney's comments, in an excerpt of an interview with Meet the Press, came as Clinton prepared to campaign for President Barack Obama in key swing states.

So could Clinton win another term?

"If the Constitution weren't in his way, perhaps. I don't know the answer to that," Romney says in the snippet of the exchange, to be broadcast in full on Sunday.

"But he did stand out in contrast with the other speakers. I think he really did elevate the Democrat convention in a lot of ways," the Republican presidential hopeful says. "And frankly the contrast may not have been as attractive as Barack Obama might have preferred if he were choosing who'd go before him and who'd go after."

If Obama had any second thoughts about Clinton's speech, one of the best-received addresses at the convention, he hasn't shown them during a three-day tour through New Hampshire, Iowa and Florida — quite the opposite. Obama has peppered his stump speech with Clinton quotes and joked that he might name the former president "secretary of explaining stuff."

Clinton is also scheduled to campaign for Obama in Florida on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Romney also knocked Republican congressional leaders for making "a big mistake" by agreeing to the so-called "sequester" -- automatic spending cuts to social programs and the military set to kick in at year's end, the price of failure to reach a sweeping deficit-cutting deal.

"The American people need to understand how it is that our defense is going to be so badly cut," he said. (Romney's running mate, Republican Representative Paul Ryan, voted for the legislation that created the sequester).

All i heard when he made that comment was mitt acknowledging the strength of the opposition. What athlete or team (except the yankees) when giving it their all against a foe equally as strong hasn't given the other team a nod? Don't you get it yet? Rpmessiah is done- we have to support the candidate that can beat obama.

Way to make excuses. It's a liberal praising another liberal, deal with it.

BTW I refuse to support any liberal, period. I do wish you luck on getting your liberal elected, though.

Maybe Mitt is taking a page from Klinton.

Slick had to work with a Republican congress, and managed to get business done anyway. So maybe  Mitt is thinking he may have to do the same only the other way around?
Should be easy for a liberal to deal with a democratic congress though.

America prospered under Bill Clinton.  Of course Monica did too.  Bill wasn't a bad president he just couldn't control his libido.

I think the Republicans in Congress were responsible for the good times under Slick Willie's reign, as a lot of the things Clinton "accomplished" were done under pressure from Congress. Bill conveniently leaves out that minor detail  when he brags about how good things were. I think he probably could win a third term if he were able to run, but I don't see how having that opinion has anything to do with being a "true" conservative.  I disagree with Romney on a whole bunch of issues but he's got my vote come November. I will not  stay home, do a write in vote for Mickey Mouse or Ron Paul,or anything else that wastes my one vote. A vote for anyone other than Mitt Romney benefits Obama and I figure Obama has done enough damage for one man. I'll wager Obama can't wait to gut our Second Amendment rights and who knows what else. We need to concentrate on electing a Republican president AND keeping a majority in the House and win a majority in the Senate. We need to work with what we have because if we focus on what we wish we had we loose.

How many times must it be reiterated that none of us picked Mitt Romney as a first choice?  We didn't get our first choice--whatever that might have been, but that doesn't mean that we're going to throw in the towel and resign ourselves to be taken over by the communists without a fight.  And don't kid yourself,  Obama and the Dumycrats are just exactly that--communists.  However liberal Romney might be, I believe and hope that he is not a communist.  I also hope that we get the chance to find out, because that really is the only chance this country has.

So he said "he really did elevate" that gathering. Well, he did. "That gathering" was a bunch of goo goo eyed Libs, they love his lies. I see no news here.

He did not elevate any Conservative crowds that I know of & I don't see where anyone stated that.

He stood out in the "crowd" only because many of the others are so stupid & Clinton is a very good liar. I never voted for Clinton as Gov or anything else, but I have watched him sway folks for years & sadly still does.

I don't see where Romney says he would support Clinton, but making an accessment of the Convention.

No excuses for Romney, just looks like a non-issue to me.

There are however plenty of things for me to disagree with Romney about.
