I see howa has come out with a model 1500 varminter. Has anyone shot one of these rifles or know someone that has. I would like any info if you have any..Thanks

Have heard that the 308 varminters are excellent and im sure the other calibers would be just as good. Wally world has them for ~ $357 + tax for the blued model. I highly doubt you could go wrong for this kind of money.

Sure like my 1500 in .300WSM  :grin:  It out shoots my M70 in 270 WSM.

How is the recoil of that 300 wsm? I have a stainless 1500 in 308 win on the way and was just wondering.

Recoil is not bad at all.  But this is with the Boyd thumbhole laminate stock and 3.5-10 Zeiss on top.  I think it is less than my 270 WSM M70.  Very happy with the Howa and would not mind a .223  heavy barrelled version.

I've got one and love it. It's very accurate, 1/2 inch at 100 yards is no problem, and the trigger came from the factory set to 3lbs. I'b buy another without hesitation. Mine is chambered in .223, 24" barrel, synthetic stock. I've considered getting a Boyd's stock, but it shoots fine now.
