Anyone have any luck shooting the 55 gr FMJ bulk bullets out of a 1:9 twist 22 Hornet?

Try a near case full of LilGun or a little less if you have boattails.  55 gr soft points are stable in mine but I have not shot many of them.  I like Barnes 36gr varmint grenades w/ Lil Gun or MP300.  Check Hodgdons website for LilGun data.  Mine has a generous throat so you can seat the bullet way out.  I shot a few 70gr Speers on top of LilGun and they were stable as well.  Good luck.

I used to load 55gr FMJ-BT Hornadys under a charge of AA1680 if I remember correctly. I would have to consult my records. They appeared to stabilize just fine and accuracy was none too shabby either. Just moved into a new house, so the load books are packed away (somewhere).

1680 is a fine powder to load 22 Hornet and you couldn't go wrong with it in any grain bullet you chose.
