I'm back
« on: July 05, 2012, 11:57:48 AM »
Took two GIs out looking for Black Bears.  We did see a few Blacks, but they were rubbed bad.  We saw more Grizzlies hitting the bait stations.  We rafted Hess Creek down to the Yukon River.  Spent a couple of days at a friends cabin, then boated up to the Yukon River Bridge.  As we were unloading at home I fell.  I hit hard flat on my back, knocking the wind out of me.  I was not able to breath or get up.  I was totally paralized from hitting the packed gravel of my drive.  I fell about five feet.  No one saw me fall, and it was a while before they realized I was missing.  I passed out, then came to after the wife had me in the truck on the way to the hospital.

They took enough X-Rays I should be glowing by now.  I've been drugged up and unable to get out of bed for over a week.  Left shoulder and Left hip seemed to take the brunt of the fall, and have been too sore to use till yesterday.  Today I am up and walking short distances.  Problem is when I sit down I have trouble getting back up.  Wife took off last week and Monday and Tuesday of this week to stay with me.  She went back to work today, giving me orders to stay in bed.  Yea, right.  I'm just moving slow, real slow.  Back is hurting and keeps me moving slow.  Right now VICODIN is my best friend.

By next week I should be up and moving without being in a daze.  Signing off now, will be back tomorrow.  Rog

So this means your not Griz crap? Was starting to wonder if Graybeards admonition was come true.

Go easy on recovery, inflaming a sore back can do more harm than good at times. Do move around though, losing muscle happens fast.

HUMMMMM! My only observation is that old men shouldn't go around doing that kind of thing.
Don't do it again--I said as I contemplated how much it hurt you.
Keep on keeping on---just don't fall.
Blessings

Monday my desktop crashed, got that malware.  Geeks said it will be a min of four weeks before they can get to it.  They had that many come n monday before noon when I got there.  Last friday they had no back log.  Using my netbook, it's slow.  The keyboard is hard to use as well.  Lots of typos.  So be forgiving please.

Back is giving me fits, I've lost ten pounds, all muscle mass.  My waist has not changed one bit.  I'm hurting a lot, can not pickup anything.  Can not bend over.  Started going back to the gym last evening.  Met the wife there.  Doing some of the things my Physical Therapist had me doing before the fall.  Today I'm no having any ill affects from last evening, so going again this evening.

While I was in the bed one of the GIs got into some seroius trouble.  Involving Drink, a Woman, and housesitting.  He's now in the Fairbanks Correctional Facility.  It was all over the news and the way they reported it, in the Court Of Public Openion he's toast.  He had too much to drink, grabbed her and restrained her for a moment, then let her go.  The news is making it look a lot worse, and are not reporting that she was charged with assult as well.  But he is geting an education.  Think he will get to spend a few days more in jail, but think he will beat the sexual assult charge.  Especially, when she did not show up for her hearing Wednesday.  We'll see.
