Lawdog, I agree that ANY product should be free from any flaws from the factory. I thought that perhaps a "simple fix" at home might save someone from the time, expense and aggravation of having to ship a firearm back to the factory. The thing is, I'm not here to crusade against Remington either. Remington is not alone with this QC problem. I just saw a NIB Sako 75 that wouldn't chamber factory ammo. It's been sent back to the factory for over a month. Also, a new S$W 686 that had an oblong muzzle crown. These are just a few examples of current firearms goof ups that I've personally seen. It's pretty apparent that ALL of these manufacturers had better get their acts together, not just Remington. MI VHNTR
