Ah, the joys of living in Alaska. You never go outside your front door(or back door) without looking first. Even doing things in your yard you have to be aware of your surroundings. I've ran into Grizzlies in the back yard, Black Bears licking the grates on my grill on the front deck. Along with Moose chasing my Beagles into the garage. Watched a Cow Moose give birth a few years ago beside my wood pile. Had Moose chase me down the street on my Motorcycle.
Bet these two young girls keep an eye out in the future.

EAGLE RIVER, Alaska - Police say two girls were injured when they were stomped by a moose in Eagle River.
The Anchorage Daily News (
http://is.gd/e69xTA) says the girls, ages 11 and 6, were playing on the street Monday when the moose chased them. Police say the girls ran to a piece of playground equipment in a nearby yard but the moose followed.
Police spokesman Dave Parker says the 6-year-old was severely stomped on her back and arm. He says the older girl was struck by the collapsing playground equipment, and was treated and released at the scene.
Parker says neighbors suspect the same moose had raised calves in the neighborhood in the past.
