why would a lead free bullet need to be bonded?

30 Cal .308 Dia 150 Grain w/ Cannelure bonded lead free Poly tip 500 Count....  snippet from Midsouth Shooters Supply website concerning some blem bullets they are offering....why would a lead free bullet need to be bonded?

On a side note, I got 500 of the 6mm blems, 100gr flat base Hornady Interlock. Can't beat them for the price and the "blem" was a very slight variation in the jacket at the tip. Visually noticeable but can't image it affecting performance.

I am swimming in 6mm bullets, but did place an order for 200 of the 180 grain .35 caliber SSP bullet..I believe you are correct..the other products are all Hornady...

Maybe the bullet covering is better for engaging the rifling and reducing wear or reducing fouling.

just because a bullet is lead free doenst nessisarily mean its one solid alloy. Some are done with powder cores and some with alloys differnt then the outer jacket.
