basically I have tried 3 scopes(all adjustments were turned to zero) and 2 different mounting systems(optilock and Talley) and it shoots to the same POI @ 25 yards.

Problem is the POI is 3" low and 3" left @ 25 yards.

Would you consider this a problem such as barrel/receiver misalignment?

Have any of you had SAKO's do this? It is my 1st sako.

Thoughts??

Can you tell us, is the barrel free floated the entire length?

Tom

I truly am perplexed.  I have never had such problems with my 75s.  It really concerned me that the same thing has happened with 3 scopes.  Is it a new gun?  If so, then you may want to call Beretta and ask them.

I guess I'm thinking this isn't quite a problem yet.

First---the gun needs to be shot at 100 yds.

What caliber is it??

What bullet weight are you using??

Need more info here.

Several different bullet weights need to be shot at 100yds.

If the rifle groups well---and you don't run out of adjustment clicks on the scope---then there really isn't a problem.

Also---what kind of scope are you using??

What ring height are you using??

A centered scope is just a starting point---not the end all.

they are all quality scopes in low rings. I used hornady SST 150 grain ammo. I got the gun to shoot a .75" group @ 100 yards however it toook a good amount of elevation and windage adjustment to do it.

3" off @ 25 yards is approx 12" off at 100 yards.
yes the barrel is free floated the entire length.

I have a couple of Sako rifles and have seen quite a few others being shot and never heard of the problem you are talking about.  All Sako 75 barrels are free floated . . . does your barrel run straight in the forend ie... is the space between the barrel and the sides of the forend equal?  Are you adjusting your scope to hit the bullseye at 25 yds. and can't. or just trying to set up your scope adjustment in the middle of its range?  I have never seen anyone hit the bull at any distance without some scope adjustment.

Presuming it's not  a scope problem (probably not with 3 different scopes) or a barrel riding problem (free floated), I would guess if there is an issue, it's that the dovetails for the scope mounts weren't machined coaxial (in line with) with the reciever longitudnal axis (unlikely in my opinion), or that the front face of the receiver, where the barrel tightens, wasn't machined off square.  Hard to check for these kind of conditions.  Since it sounds like it shoots OK, maybe it's not a problem after all.  YOu should be able to see a 12" misalignment by boresighting.  Set your scope back to "neutral", and bore sight.  See if there is really a 12" error.

Well my 1st shot  3 shot group @ 100, when I got dialed in, was almost inside a penny. 1 little edge of a bullet hole sticking out darnit!

Guess she is capable of shooting good.
It did take a lot of elevation and windage to get there but I guess she's "there"

Did you do anything different in order to get her to shoot straight?

I wasn't rying in to say she didn't shoot "striaght".
Problem is striaght for the barrel and straight for the scope appear to be 2 different directions but not more than the windage and elevation  adjustments of my scope.
