I have been looking at these two brands in a 25-06.I like both of them but cant decide. :cry:

I was in the same boat and decided on a Tikka. For the price of the Sako I got a Tikka and a Monarch scope on it. Haven't shot it, I just got the scope put on yesterday, but I can't wait.

i was in the same boat i wanted a tikka in 7mm-08 s/s and quess what they dont make them in s/s anymore. i ordered a sako a month ago and still waiting but i dont mind and come to think of it i was not to thrilled with the plastic trigger guard.

Both are great rifles (I have both). Unless I could get my hands on a Tikka in the Whitetail Hunter Delux I would go with the Sako. Even though the T-3's are good, they really do not appeal to me.

I also wanted a Tikka WH SS in 7mm-08, but couldn't find one, so I got the Sako 75 SS in 7mm-08. Both are great rifles (as I own several of both), but, for the money, Tikka is a better value, despite it having more plastic components. However, if you are willing to spring for the extra money, then get the Sako - you won't be disappointed.

However, if you are thinking about getting the Tikka AND a NICE scope, OR get the Sako and a cheaper scope, get the Tikka and nice scope. Many people have a budget to where they spend, say, $800 on a gun and only $100 on the scope - DON'T DO IT. Optics are just as important, if not more important, than the rifle itself.

I found it on gunbroker.com and, like most auction purchases, it took about 2 weeks before I received the gun.

I bought a Tikka Continental 25-06 over a year ago! Absolutely love it! Shoots Super accurate! I will buy another Tikka in 338 mag this summer!

Sako purchased Tikka several years ago and has been slowly introducing the Tikka line as what we might call an economy Sako. Just a year or so ago, Beretta purchased Sako and now owns both Tikka and Sako.

On my recommendation, my Godsons Dad bought my Godson a Tikka Whitetail Hunter Deluxe in .30/06 for his deer rifle. Its not only very accurate, but one of the most beautiful rifles Ive ever seen. The Trigger is user adjustable with the small tool the manufacturer furnishes with each new rifle.

The wood-to-metal fit is perfect as is the hand-checkering. The cheek-piece is just the right height and perfectly positioned. The bolt is ABSOLUTELY smooth and free-moving. You only have slightly elevate the rifles muzzle to move it all the way to its rearmost position. The bolt has one less locking lug (2 instead of 3 for the Sako), but 2 locking lugs are VERY adequate for a center-fire rifle.

According to the manufacturers literature, the barrels for both the Sako and the Tikka come from the same box. Therefore, the quality and accuracy of the barrels are the same on either the Sako or the Tikka.

The Tikka comes without sights, so a good scope is in order. In my opinion, the Tikka represents the BEST VALUE on the center-fire hunting rifle market. I own a Sako, but if I were in your position, Id buy the Tikka Whitetail Hunter Deluxe unless I was rolling in bucks. If I WAS (which I'm not) rolling in "bucks", then Id buy the Sako.

I could not scrounge up a Whitetail Hunter Deluxe about a month ago. I bought the T3 Hunter, Wood stock blued barrel. Beautiful gun! A little catch though it does not come in a 7mm-08. Instead the T3 Hunter comes in a 6.5-55 and a lot other calibers including some short mags. For me I wanted a mid caliber to use for fun plinking and smaller Deer in the Black Hills. I have a 300 Win. Mag. for the bigger needs. Look at the Baretta Arms web site it has the calibers and shows a picture of the guns. I will shoot this gun in a couple of week but as far as looks it is all I could have asked for! Buckfever
