Even as a brand new member to this forum, I feel comfortable revealing that I'm addicted to handguns, my 6.5mm AR-15 and my FN-FAL. I also enjoy sending as much Pb and Cu downrange as $$$ and hand-loading time will allow. The vast majority of the guiltless, cute and furry mammals I have shamelessly dispensed with were done so using handguns only; namely .44 Mag., 7.5x28mm, .500 S&W Mag. and 9x23mm Win.
That said, the mere thought of generating an ultra-atmosphereic hydrostatic shockwave in what will, for all intents and purposes, be created throughout all of my victims' soft tissue the instant supersonic projectiles I seemingly thoughtlessly launched toward hapless, random and innocent animals is literally nauseating to me.
I hope that the absence of the adjective "harmless" was not missed by the reader when describing the animals shot my me. The misunderstanding is borne by, dare I say, every anti-hunting person or group, and not exclusively by WWF, PETA, Greenpeace, The Sierra Club and the even more radical, hypocritical environuts.
Although I abhor ridding the hundreds of square miles I patrol of as many small, furry mammals (mostly rodents) time and dollars will allow, I am providing my tithe to society, as dubious as it may sound, by performing a service of great import, and one that endangers my health as that of my family.
You see, these endearing, charming, enchanting creatures are a proven social menace since most of them carry and spread a multitude of deadly diseases and maladies including hantavirus, bubonic plague, rocky mountain spotted fever, AIDS, gonorrhea, cholera, typhoid fever, and on and on. These benevolent furballs also spread jock itch, yeast infections and pinworms that lead to embarrassing insatiable itching while in public.
Thank you for listening to my tale of woe. I only ask that you allow satire on your forum and help to educate the public of the thankless job varmint hunters from the foothills of the Blue Mountains in Washington State to the Everglades perform and the countless lives they have saved.
Gratefully,
