Rem 700 accurizing

I have a model 700 in a 243 that I would like have some work done on.  I want to change the stock, maybe a new barrel, and some trigger work.  Anyone have any good suggestions to make my 700 the ultimate rifle? :-)

What do you envision as the principal uses of this reborn rifle.  Varmits?  Deer?  Both?  If your mainly a varmit hunter I'd opt for a Swift, Probably an octagon barrel.  A nice custom stock(I much prefer wood) with a lot of fiddleback in the stock..  Claro walnut would be just fine for this light kicker and replace that Remington trigger with a Canjar.

I use my rifle for varmits and deer.  Is there anyplace that sells match grade barrles to the factory contour finished and ready to ship?

..........The field is TOO wide open.......and your budget and use will determine the suggestions......a good gunsmith can adjust most Remington 700 triggers to a good field trigger....the replacement by a Jewell is about the best overall trigger......as for stock and barrel.....you would be better off just trading the gun you have for a factory 700vssf if you want a good/great syn stock and good shooting gun.....ULTIMATE goes up to exhibition grade classic stock with tasteful checkering pattern and steel grip cap/skeleton butt plate and two screw talley sling swivels.....barrel.....air gauged,cyro before and after blank work with tight neck chamber in a action that has been trued-tuned and bolt fitted with/sako extractor installed and custom checkered bolt handle........or McMillian syn stock with barrel and action work.....scope mount holes redrilled and enlarged/aligned with steel fitted scope base for contoured scope base and rings........all this is based on your action being close enough to make the work worth the effort and you might be better off with a different custom action to start or similar changes.......you might need to pick a desired result and let a good gunsmith reccomend how to best obtain the results.......all the choices and decisions is half the fun.....good luck and good shooting!!

Yes there are factory sized barrels available.  they still have to be fitted by a competant smith.
